Easy Weeknight Sloppy Joes

This is found in my recipe collection under "Mrs. McCann's Barbeque". It was handed down from a neighbor of my great-aunt's sometime in the 1940's. I prefer to use ground round so there isn't so much fat. Gets better the longer it simmers.

  1. This was great. Made it a couple times, already. Most ingredients are usually on hand anyway. Beats the heck out of canned or boxed mixes.

  2. This is even better if you use 1/4 cup of packed brown sugar, instead of the white sugar.

  3. This is a good, old-fashioned tasting slopppy joe recipe. The mustard flavor comes through strong and clear. I choose to make this recipe because I had all the ingredients on hand.

  4. Looks great! But I think there's an error in the Directions. Where it says Drain etc. and add meat, it should say add SAUCE, not meat.

  5. These "Sloppy Joe's" are outstanding. My wife makes them on a fairly regular basis. Fortunately for me, I have an understanding wife. She leaves the onions out of this dish just for me because I do not like onions at all in anything. Not all of us do like onions in spite of what you onion lovers think. Join my club "OGRE". Onions and Garlic Ruin Everything!
